Sonning Bridge by Harry Fewtrell, 1901. Reproduced with the kind permission of the artists' grandson, Douglas Fewtrell.

Harry Fewtrell was born in Guildford in 1854 but lived for many years in Reading. He was what might be called a 'jobbing artist', painting the exterior views of pubs to sell to the landlords. He also painted advertising scenes which were used in railway carriages by GWR. He emigrated with his family to Canada in 1911 where he died in 1944.
