- The site is used by Sonning Primary School and cubs, beavers, brownies,
etc for nature studies, which is one of the key reasons why it has been
declared a Local Nature Reserve.
- Attractive information boards have been
erected on the site, and these are changed periodically to provide
visitors with pictures and information
about the wide variety of wildlife that they are likely to encounter
at different times of year.
- A Friends of Ali’s Pond group has
been set up and now has over 100 members. Wildlife news and calls for
work party volunteers is e-mailed
to this group periodically and over 30 members have helped with management
activities to date. Membership is free and new members can enrol by
e-mailing the Voluntary Warden, Alastair Driver, at: ali@sonningdrivers.plus.com
